Under Linux, individual kernels of information may be
included with the basic kernel to customize the operating system to the
task at hand. This allows the
computer to be focused on the specific task of automating your station. There is no unnecessary baggage. In fact, most of or Linux servers are
running at around 2% of capacity (vs up to 70 percent or more for
Windows). We actually use that
figure to trigger support calls if we detect the system resource usage creeping
above that figure. This gives lots
of headroom to the system and dramatically reduces problems while
increasing reliability
