Everything You Wanted to Know About Subroutines (But Were Afraid to Ask) Q: What is a subroutine anyway? A: A subroutine is a set of timed events in the Smartcaster that are preprogrammed to fit into any hour. Q: Huh? A: Okay, say that you're punching in your timed events, & you notice that most of them are the same. You play a legal ID, then you switch the RIDZ to a certain channel to play the news, then fire a break, & finally you go back to music. Wouldn't it be easier to group these commands into one event & do this once? That's when you need a subroutine. Making a subroutine isn't that much different than adding any other timed event.
