A function is Smarts version of a legal ID, a liner, a jingle or anything that you want. They have a different kind of rotation than a spot or a song.

A function has a five digit number that starts with an F & ends with the announcer code.

F/0/01/a

  • F is for Function, that's good enough for me.
  • The second digit is for the kind of Function. There are seven kinds you can assign to anything, zero through six.
  • This next set of numbers can be any number between 01 and 99. This one happens to be 01.
  • Last is the announcer code. Every announcer gets one letter. For instance I'd make Alan be letter A.

What if you want a generic liner or legal ID to play through every announcer? You can use a % in place of the announcer code.
