In the SMARTCASTER, select CUT MANAGER under AUDIO. When prompted for SPOTS, MUSIC, FUNCTIONS etc., please choose MUSIC.

The Cut Manager should now show a list of all the music recorded on the SMARTCASTER system.

Now, press [ALT]+[V] to run the Verify Scan. (Verify/Scan is a routine used to verify that all the audio cuts exist where they are supposed to. It also calculates the recorded length of each audio cut).

The SMARTCASTER responds with a dialog box asking if it is OK to proceed with a verify scan.

Select YES (by pressing 'Y').

The SMARTCASTER now scans through the list of cuts and makes sure that the cuts exist, and calculates the full (non EOM) length of each cut.

Once finished, the SMARTCASTER reports to you the number of cuts found.

Press [ENTER]

The dialog box containing the message mentioned above disappears.

Press [ALT]+[O]

The SMARTCASTER asks you for the path and filename to output the list to.

Insert a floppy disk into the disk drive in the SMARTCASTER. Then Enter: A:\LIST.TXT and press [ENTER].

The screen scrolls with green text as the output report file is being written. At this point we are done with the SMARTCASTER unit. All further instructions are carried out on the DPD unit.

Please take the disk out of the SMARTCASTER and take it to the DPD machine.

Click LIBRARY and select LIST/DELETE

A dialog box is displayed asking for drives, directory and file name to import.

Click the down arrow to the right of DRIVE LiST BOX and select A: Drive.

DPD now shows the contents of the floppy disk in the FILES LIST BOX directly below the FOLDERS LIST BOX.

Click on the file called LIST.TXT.

The file is now highlighted blue.

Click the CONVERT Button (on the right side of the screen).

The unit displays the hour glass and shows that the DPD records are being updated.

Click CANCEL

The dialog disappears.
