Last month we mentioned that we can do training on the Internet.  We have worked quite a bit with this system this past month, and are pleased with how well it is working.  Basically, we meet you on a site, smartsbroadcast.webex.com, and conduct a training session.  We can teach you a process with data on our computer which you will see on

your screen.  Or we can look at your data on your computer and diagnose problems.  To use this training tool, you will need to download Webex software and be on the Internet.  Our charge is $50 per hour.  SMARTS - the Second Generation, Version 7 SMARTS software, and DPD can all be used for Webex training.

If you are suddenly unable to do an All Month Backup, one of the causes can be too many files, or a file that is too large in your subdirectory to fit into the backup procedure.  We will need to see a printout of your directory to make that determination.  You will be directed to print out the directory and fax it to us.  We will then help you delete the offending file or files.

Every so often you will enter a traffic order, and find out later that it should have been co op. If you are a user of SMARTS - the Second Generation, we can "wave a magic wand"  and change a non-co op order into a co op order!  To do this, make note of the cuts assigned to the

order you wish to change.  Then go to Orders/Edit Co op.  Select the account you need to change, and the correct cut.  Then click on Co op/Set Invoice Co op status to True.  You will then see your listed co op.  Do this for each cut attached to the order.  Co op will then print as usual.

In Versions SG010629 and above, a new feature has been added to Special Events.  It is called Lock Spot Rate, and is found in Orders/Special Events/Edit.  You may check this option on by clicking on it.  A check mark will appear to the left.  You may then enter additional dates to a Special Event, and billing for those dates will be added to the Special Event.  The billing is based on the original unit rate for the event spots.  Thus if your original schedule was for four dates, with two spots each, and a package rate of $80.00, your unit spot rate is $10.  If you add one date to this event, $20 will be added to the billing.

Also in Special Events, you are able to delete sponsor entries if they have not yet run.  However, if the date of the event is past, a delete will remove only future dates for that sponsor.  If a sponsor has run on an event in error, a billing adjustment may be made.
