WHEEL PROBLEM
This is a rather obscure situation, but we pass it along to you, just in case. We had a station running Wheels. The symptom is that a particular Wednesday log suddenly showed up minus some Wheel spots. What we found is that the Account Header used in the Wheel did not yet have a name. Therefore it did not have a product code. It had to have a product code to make the Wheel work. Once the Header name was assigned, and a proper product code in place, it worked fine.
RETRAINING A NEW OPERATOR
Suddenly your operator of 10 years leaves, and your station has no one who can run SMARTS. Or you hire a new person, who doesn't have much training from the old person. You are definitely in a spot.
We can be of help to you. Regular support fees do not cover the training of a new operator. But we can set up telephone training sessions at the rate of $80.00 per hour, minimum of one hour. We have been doing this for several months now, and
have found it effective. We are willing to work with you an hour at a time. In other words, you can contract for one hour, and then see if you need a second hour.
The advantage with the phone training is that we can do it within a few days of when your need arises. We are still available to contract with you at a $250.00 per day rate, plus travel expenses, and come to your station. However, we require several weeks' notice to set that up.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
I always hesitate to offer a "Merry Christmas" to radio station traffic people. It is the busiest time of the year at most stations, and you are all likely tearing your hair out. If it is any comfort, Debbie, Connie and I have "been there-done that", so along with Christmas greetings, we offer heartfelt sympathy!
Just be sure you do your backups!
